This event supports the Bennington County Coalition for the Homeless (BCCH), an organization dedicated to providing safe shelter, food, and support services to homeless families and individuals in Bennington County.
About Shakespeare in the Woods:
Shakespeare in the Woods is an innovative outdoor theatre company reimagining the Bard's works through a modern, radical, and gender-expansive queer lens. Their mission is to create bold, accessible art for all audiences, regardless of socioeconomic or geographic barriers. They also engage younger generations of Vermonters through educational outreach that highlights the importance of making art outside traditional pathways.
About Bennington County Coalition for the Homeless:
BCCH provides essential services to the homeless population in Bennington County, promoting awareness and compassion. Their dedicated team collaborates to implement services that offer support and opportunities for those in need.

VPT’s first in-person offering - we are thrilled to have been given permission by the Truman Capote Literary Trust to present this holiday classic performed by well known favorite- Dan Butler of NBC’s Frasier fame, and directed by Dina Janis. This piece will be performed at venues around the state as a benefit for Vermont Flood Relief through Vermont Community Foundation and Vermont Foodbank.

A Christmas Memory is Truman Capote’s story about his Alabama childhood with an eccentric elderly cousin, first published in 1956.
Seven-year-old Buddy knows that the Christmas season has arrived when his cousin, Miss Sook Falk exclaims: "It's fruitcake weather!" Thus begins an unforgettable portrait of an odd, but enduring, friendship between two innocent souls—one young and one old—and the memories they share of beloved holiday rituals.
This holiday classic will be performed by actor Dan Butler of NBC’s Frasier.
Tickets are free but must be reserved. We also encourage you to make a donation to the Vermont Community Foundation to support their flood relief efforts.
